I used to get emails saying my character was going to bean alien or a transvestite pole-dancer. – Tom Felton was kept in the dark about his character

 It's been more than three years since Tom Felton played the villainous

 Draco Malfoy in the final Harry Potter film, but whilst he may have hung up his Slytherin robes, he definitely hasn't abandoned his evil ways!

Tom is currently starring as a calculating, ruthless Silicon Valley billionaire in new US crime drama Murder In The First.

And he says there were huge differences in working on a TV show to a blockbuster film.

"It was very enjoyable doing eight pages a day rather than an eighth of a page so there was a lot less waiting around.

"The whole catering budget on Harry Potter probably cost the same as this."

"Naturally I wanted to know how the character progresses and what happen but they refused to give us any information. The cast would try and get together each morning to put together our own theories about what was going to happen and who was guilty."

BELLE - To be released in the UK

Belle will be released here in the UK June 13th  2014.

BELLE is inspired by the true story of Dido Elizabeth Belle (Gugu Mabatha-Raw), the illegitimate mixed race daughter of a Royal Navy Admiral. Raised by her aristocratic great-uncle Lord Mansfield (Tom Wilkinson) and his wife (Emily Watson), Belle's lineage affords her certain privileges, yet the colour of her skin prevents her from fully participating in the traditions of her social standing. Left to wonder if she will ever find love, Belle falls for an idealistic young vicar's son bent on change who, with her help, shapes Lord Mansfield's role as Lord Chief Justice to end slavery in England.

The film has an almost British cast of Tom Wilkinson,  Miranda Richardson, Penelope Wilton, Matthew Goode and of course Tom Felton. Who was  casted as James Ashford.

The film is directed by  Amma Asante  and is her second film she has directed. the first was A Way 'of Life in 2004 which she wrote as well.

Belle has already been shown at the Toronto International film festival last September and was attended  by the cast. They were interviewed by The Hollywood Reporter,

Full Circle Was a Challenge

The actor  discusses the  role on the Neil Lebute series and his career after playing Draco Malfoy.

"Harry Potter" actor Tom Felton stars on the premiere episode of playright Neil Lebute's Direct TV's
series "Full Circle.

For the role the 26 year old and co star Minka Kelly had to shoot their half hour  episode together in a 14 hour day which proved challenging for the movie star.

 "Contrasting to the days of Harry Potter - we'd get 30 seconds done in a day - it was new to me and a challenge "  Felton told   The Wrap and other reporters at the press event for the  DirectTV drama.

"I was pretty nervous when we started to see if we hit the ground running or whether it would take a long time to go " he continued  "Without a question.  it was the most intense day of my life. Emotions were coming out when I didn't want them to or need them  but ultimately it helped in the performance. No one really had the chance to stop and get their phones out or go make a cup of coffee . It was back to back and off we go "

On the series. each episode a different couple and their lives weave into the other episode. The 26 year old  plays Tim ,  a British College Student having an affair with a married woman played by Minka Kelly . With plans to return home, Tim begs the woman  to leave her husband and family for him.

Minka's an incredibly talented person " he said  of his co star. "It was nice, because you never saw two takes that were the same, she was always changing it up."

With so little time to build chemistry, the pair read line together over Skype.

"The  chemistry was something that came the day  before we shot, " he said  "which was nice."

While most of the actors had back-to-back episodes Felton  felt  it lucky to appear in the premiere episode and then again on the tenth and last episode after a three week hiatus between them.

"I quite like it in the respect we get to see the longest journey for Tim " he said  "Who he is in Episode 1  is world's away from where he is in the tenth episode . So, I feel lucky that we get to show without revealing to much, that he's slightly more ambitious  ever more slightly juvenile, in the first episode. But come the tenth, he's given more time to grow and mature.

And while child stars can find the same role that made them famous can hamper their career , Felton  is still grateful for what the $7.7 billion ' Harry Potter '  franchise  has done for him.

'It's definately not a burden, " he said  "Its taught  everything I know pretty much for acting and general set thing. I think it's a good thing . the character I played on "Harry Potter" was a very strong,  evil wizzard, which is quite a bespoke role. I haven't seen anything quite close to that since then. I generally feel most times I walk into a room to meet someone they're shocked at my appearance and that I'm not evil. That kinda plays to my advantage.

Felton's television project is a pilot for TNT called "Murder in the First"  on which he plays a charismatic  Silicon Valley CEO with a vicious side.

"The goal of the last couple of years, I think is to just do as many contrasting roles to Draco as possible, as much as I like to play an asshole."  he said  "Luckily. the last few ones have been very contrasting and Im looking forward to seeing peoples reactions  to that" 

Full Circle premieres  wednesday 9/8c on DirectTVs Audience network.

Tom Goes FULL CIRCLE & MURDER IN THE FIRST as he Debuts on American TV

DIRECT TV  announced that Tom Felton was casted alongside David Boreanaz and Kate Walsh in their Drama FULL CIRCLE

DiRECT TV announced that  Tom will be appearing in the Neil Lebale  drama 'Full Circle'

When DirecTV's new original drama "Full Circle" debuts on the Audience Channel in the fall, some people will see it as screenwriter and playwright Neil LaBute's TV debut. But others may see it as a chance for Angel and Draco Malfoy to team. Both "Angel" and "Bones" star David Boreanaz and "Harry Potter" alum Tom Felton have been announced in the cast, but don't expect a typical ensemble effort.

The concept behind the 10-episode drama series is that each episode will feature a conversation between two characters in a restaurant. One of the characters will then provide the bridge to the next episode, which will feature that person paired with a new character, and so-on until the season finale, which will bring all the characters together.

Joining Boreanaz and Felton are Kate Walsh, Minka Kelly,Julian McMahon, Keke Palmer, Devon Gearhart, Bill Campbell, Noah Silver, Ally Sheedy, Cheyenne Jackson andRobin Weigert.

The connections are sometimes surprising: McMahon plays a high-powered entertainment lawyer, while Kelly plays his wife. And Boreanaz plays his client, a famous comic with a wild streak, while Palmer plays someone whose life was forever changed as the result of a joke the comic took too far.

Production on the series will begin at the end of May in DirecTV's Los Angeles Broadcasting Center.

"Full Circle" will be DirecTV's original series follow-up to "Rogue," the police drama starring Thandie Newton that debuted in April. Previously, DirecTV had picked up series that began on other networks to finish their runs. It produced three seasons of "Friday Night Lights" when it was going to be canceled by NBC and it produced two seasons of "Damages"when it was in danger of being canceled by FX.

but thats not all thanks to DEADLINE.COM . It has been  announced that Tom will be appearing in TNT TV's   pilot episode for MURDER IN THE FIRST and will be  a series regular.

Co-created by Steven Bochco and Eric Lodal, the project is a murder mystery that centers on San Francisco PD homicide detectives Terry Seagrave (Taye Diggs) and Hildy Mulligan (Kathleen Robertson), as they take on a case that seems more like a maze. Felton will play Erich Blunt, the cocky, spectacularly wealthy CEO of Applicon, a tech genius.

Lucky winner of Toms Hat and Badge

The Winner of the signed hat & badge in the charity  for "Rays of Sunshine"  on  @ebay  was  a young friend who has supported Tom Felton for a long time @Feel_the_beat won the hat on Sunday.

Nicholle was lucky last year to take part in an early morning question session on the radio to speak to Tom and ask him a question.

As we all know Tom supports a few charities that care about children in various ways - children who are ill, children who suffer due to poor sanitation in third World countries and need education and money to  keep them safe and healthy.

Here in the UK we have Rays of Sunshine a Charity Organisation that makes wishes come true for Children who live with serious or life threatening illness's .

Just recently Tom made one of these wishes come true for Adam who has high risk neuroblastoma.  Tom met Adam  at the Harry Potter WBStudio Tours before going for an audition  and Tom took the time out to have a wand duel with Adam

Whilst he was there he signed a Cap and Badge for Rays of Sunshine  to auction on @ebay.
